Academic support

When you begin your postgraduate studies you'll be allocated a supervisor or advisers by your University faculty. We can support you too.

Graduate tutors

We have a Graduate Tutor, a Deputy Graduate Tutor and an Assistant Graduate Tutor who work as part of the overall Tutorial team within the College. Their role is to select, maintain, and support an active and vibrant postgraduate community.

They act on behalf of our postgraduates, from attending College committees to submitting appeals and allowances. Our Graduate Tutor is happy to have a chat with you if you need some support with an academic issue.

College contacts

In your first year as a postgraduate you'll be assigned a College Contact who is a Jesus Fellow based in a subject close to your own degree, usually someone different to your faculty supervisor or adviser.

Your College Contact is a connection to both Fellows and undergraduates in your subject at Jesus, but they may also be able to help you with advice about your course or other issues in your faculty.

If you're a current student seeking academic support, or you're thinking of joining us and you'd like to know more, get in touch with the Senior Postgraduate Administrator by calling +44 (0)1223 339421 or emailing graduate-tutor@jesus.cam.ac.uk.

I chose ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ because of the great mixture of undergraduates and postgraduates, and when I first visited I thought it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen! The sense of community in Jesus has had an enormous impact on my experience here. Whether you need help, advice, cheering up or even just a chat there is always someone there to put a smile on your face. From the MCR committee to the Porters, the canteen staff to the gardeners, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Jesus also...

ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ has been a great home for me during my PhD. I chose ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ for a number of reasons – first, the location. We are central enough to be within easy walking distance of most things, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle (and tourists in summer!). The College also has extensive grounds, with amenities like the hockey pitch, football pitch and tennis courts all on site. Secondly, the accommodation is some of the best I’ve seen in Cambridge. My house was newly renovated when...

When applying to Cambridge colleges it can feel a bit overwhelming as there are so many to choose from. I applied to ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ because it has a large MCR which was important for me because I wanted to feel part of a community. Now that I’m doing my PhD here, I’m very glad I did choose a college with a large postgraduate community. Throughout the year there are lots of postgraduate events, including formal dinners, special formals at Christmas and Easter, bops in the bar and film nights in...

It is a well-accepted opinion in Cambridge that ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ is the best college and no other college even comes a distant second. Its sports grounds are enormous, its buildings are mesmerising, its libraries are rich, its chapel is the oldest, its accommodation is the best value for money, its international community is diverse, its religious circles are the most welcoming, and its members are the smartest, kindest and the friendliest. It is one of the central colleges that aims to offer three years accommodation to postgraduates, and has comparatively...

What first attracted me to ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ was its reputation and history, central location without being touristy, and the postgraduate housing options. When I arrived at Jesus I was so pleased to find the partner accommodation was spacious, affordable, and situated very close to the college, allowing us to really take advantage of the facilities. We especially enjoyed The Roost, the nicest of all the college bars, doubling as a café during the day - ideal for studying or meeting up with groups - and a lively pub in the...
